Collagen Casings

More cost effective than natural gut, collagen casings speed up fresh sausage production and are easily costed into the recipe.

Edicas produces sausage casings made from edible collagen. With a range of over 25 products, EDICAS casings have an inperceptable bite and wet out well when filled. They are suitable for fresh and frozen sausages, withstanding grilling, shallow and deep fat frying and handling well, whether hand filled or used with semi- or fully automatic machinery. Ready to use (RTU), it requires no soaking or pre-treatment.

Edicas NU

Edible collagen casings for the preparation of fresh and cured sausages. Its elasticity makes it ideal for grilling, pan frying and deep frying.


Edicas NC

Edible collagen casings for the preparation of fresh, cured & cooked and/or smoked sausages. Ideal for grilling, pan frying and deep frying. Cooked and smoked products may also be boiled. Smoking time is less than natural casing.


Edicas NB

Edible collagen casings for the preparation of smoked and boiled sausages. Ideal for grilling, pan frying and deep frying. Cooked and smoked products may also be boiled. Smoking time is less than natural casing.


Fibran NF

This is the ideal casing for cooked sausages, cured sausages or those subject to prolonged cooking processes. Available in both Easy-Peel and RTU with a straight calibre range of 20 – 140mm and 20 – 58mm curved.
